Our Monday night yoga classes have been running since 2011 in our humble yoga home - the Upper Hall of Claremont on Angel’s White Lion Street. You may know us as 'Stretching the City', our parent company. But since we started these classes 5 years ago, Stretching the City has predominantly become a corporate wellbeing company, so we've moved our Angel classes to 'Stretching Angel' to keep thing simple. It's still the same venue, teacher and classes though!
A 2 minute walk from Angel tube station, we hire this spacious hall for a triple bill of yoga classes on Monday nights only. We’re sure you can agree, whether you’re recovering from the weekend or gearing yourself up for a frantic week ahead, there is no better night to practice yoga than a Monday. We pride ourselves on delivering inclusive, affordable, unpretentious yoga that will make you feel good. We have a loyal following of lovely students and warmly welcome new yogis too.
Vinyasa Flow: 6 & 7pm Mondays
An even balance of challenge and chill for those that like a little sweat with their stretch, Vinyasa flow classes will build strength, lengthen out tired muscles and provide a much-needed mental respite from your busy week. Moving to a regularly-changing playlist that includes the likes of Bonobo, Jamie XX and RY X (to name but a few) you'll be given the option to practice more challenging poses, or you can choose to take it easy with some less demanding versions. As you move through a series of 'vinyasa' sequences, weaved together with balances, twists, calming forward folds and invigorating backbends, you'll be encouraged to move instinctively and intuitively, getting out of your head and in to your body, as you indulge in a moving meditation and yoga practice all about you.
The teacher: Vinyasa Flow classes are taught by Sally Lovett, founder and director of Stretching the City. Teaching since 2010, Sally teaches creatively sequenced mindful vinyasa flow with quieter 'yin' poses towards the end of the practice. Accompanied by a soundtrack of ambient and electronic beats, Sally teaches with warmth, humour and a gentle encouragement to not take yourself too seriously. Read what Sally's students have to say.

Directions: From Angel tube station cross over the road to White Lion street - in between Pret a Manger and HSBC. Claremont is about 2/3rds up White Lion Street on the left-hand side.
Once inside, walk to the end of the corridor, take the stairs up 1 flight, turn right and walk to the end of the corridor, where you will find the Upper Hall. There are no formal changing facilities, but you can get changed in the loos on the ground floor. Your belongings will be safe at the back of the yoga room.
